Northern lights aurora over dark landscape

Born From the Untouched Wilderness.

From the silence of the northern valleys, a clarity emerges. Maison Noir is born from places where nature still decides the rules.

No additives. No shortcuts. Just nature.

Founded by master distiller Elena Kors in a converted greenhouse outside Oslo, Maison Noir began with a single experiment: what happens when you freeze fermentation at its most volatile moment?

Water born from a landscape carved for thousands of years by glaciers. No additives. No sugar. No artificial flavouring. Every bottle carries the mineral silence of permafrost and the first green push of Arctic spring.

Dark misty forest landscape

Twelve years and four hundred iterations later, the answer lives in every bottle we release. Glacier water, naturally filtered through ancient stone, forms the backbone of a spirit that needs nothing added.

Our process honours what the land provides. We distill slowly, let the spirit rest, and bottle only when the character is fully formed. There is no rushing the frost.

Every detail tells a story.

01

Aurora meets the earth

Maison Noir. A name that speaks to the darkness between the lights — the long northern night that makes the aurora possible.

02

Sealed with intention

The cap carries a green iridescence — aurora meeting opal. A tactile signal that what's inside was crafted with the same precision.

03

Hand-blown emerald

Every bottle is individually shaped. The deep emerald tint comes from iron oxide — the same mineral found in Nordic glacier water.

04

Ripple pattern

The bottom of each bottle carries concentric rings — a reference to the ripple effect of a single drop on still, glacial water.

“We do not rush the frost. We do not hurry the thaw. The spirit arrives when it is ready.”

Elena Kors — Founder & Master Distiller

Respect the land that gives.

Every aspect of our process is designed to return more than it takes. Carbon-neutral distillation, recycled glass, compostable packaging. The wilderness shaped our spirit — we intend to keep it wild.

1% of every bottle sold goes directly to boreal forest restoration projects across Scandinavia.
